Studio Āvartana for classes, the studio will come to you. Virtually.
The class timings can be worked out on the basis of the sudent's as well as Gayatri's schedules as well as the time difference,
if any, between the student's country
and India.

Studio Āvartana also offers classes to those who can't attend group classes. One-on-one classes can be taken with Gayatri in her studio. There are also online options for students at advanced levels.
THE STORY OF STUDIO Āvartana
On September 18, 2012, Gayatri Mahadevan, a student of the Late Smt. Swagata Sen Pillai, founded the Bangalore chapter of Kinkini Dhvani, her guru’s dance school based in Delhi. It was at Kinkini Dhvani that Gayatri honed her skills as a Bharatanatyam dancer. After nearly six years of running Kinkini Dhvani Bangalore, she established Studio Āvartana on April 18, 2018, with the blessings of her guru.
Studio Āvartana is dedicated to teaching Bharatanatyam in the Kalakshetra style at various levels. Students progress from foundational adavus to multiple mārgams (structured sequences of Bharatanatyam repertoire), learning not only the practical aspects but also the theoretical foundations of the art. Their understanding is deepened through both regular training and performances.
Gayatri is a Gandharva Mahavidyalaya-accredited teacher and a gold medalist in Bharatanatyam Alankar, the master's equivalent in the subject. Students of Studio Āvartana begin taking the prestigious Gandharva Mahavidyalaya exams from the age of 10, working through different levels of certification under the institution’s rigorous curriculum. These exams are an annual milestone in their journey.
Studio Āvartana is now preparing for a major milestone—its first Rangapravesha. Aditi Gaonkar, one of its dedicated students, will present her Rangapravesha in July 2025. This marks a significant moment for Aditi, Gayatri, and the entire Studio Āvartana family, celebrating years of dedication and artistic growth.

The annual show of Studio Āvartana - aptly named Poorna Āvartana, meaning the completion of one cycle, takes place during the summer months.
